Progression Update - Background and Character Sketches

The image below shows the flow chart of the storyline. It is a linear story.

The opening and ending of the animation will be in curtain form.
It is opened after the user click to enter, while it is closed the interactive animation reaches its end.

Below shows a sketch of the 4 kings in a plane.
In this scene, cloud and sky will be added as background of the plane.

The characters will then drop onto the ground by using parachute.
Here is the sketch of the parachute.

Below shows the animation sketches of the 4 kings being sucked up into the plane.
The bottom part of the the scanned image below shows the two on-duty soldiers who are standing in front of the entrance.

This is the scene where the kings are being released and dropped on the ground.
Their falling movements.
The bottom of the scanned image shows the sexy ladies "M".

Below shows a digital version of photo montage of the dining scene.

Photo montage problems:
- Difficulties on matching colour and tones.
- Lighting are not same for each of the images.
- Had a hard time finding suitable images with angle that is matching the scene.

Inspirational Video

This video shows a story of a girl using photo montage.

It uses a very fairytale-like background music for the video. The music used suits with the content of the video very much. It basically shows images of a girl since she was small, together with her sister and all.

I like the idea of the video which it uses book-flipping technique to tell create a story. It's just like reading a story book. Also, I like how these pictures matches with the background toys such as bears and the kids trojan horse.

Progression Updates - Sketches and digital try out

There are wines from 4 countries involved. Therefore, I make 4 of the "M" characters to be the main characters of the animation. They are representing these 4 countries, which are France, Italy, Spain and Australia.

Here are some of the sketches of the refined idea.

This is the overview scene of where the "party" is held.
It's in a royal canopy which looks this (Refer image below), with two guards in the main entrance.

This is the table sit by the 4 kings. Each with different thrones.
The table is set to have fruits, candles, wine glasses etc etc.

Project Update - Project Making Content Planning

Brief Description

A promotional interactive logo for an event called "Wine Flights"
Held by Macalister Mansion.

What is Wine Flight?

• Tasting of multiple wines
• Used to help tasters get a feel for type of wine
• Wine tasting

Things to consider

• Wine - is the content suitable for all user viewing? (need prompts)
• The animation is very short. The user might not spend a long duration to interact with it. Make the content short and interesting.
• Refer to the Google Doodle - "Little Nemo" in slumberland >> http://www.google.com/logos/2012/nemo/nemo12.html it shows a journey of somebody which is quite similar to my idea

Animation Sketches

This animation is basically about the main character, "M" which accidentally dropped into a hole. Then, it landed on a plane which took it to the Macalister Mansion. There was an event going on in that mansion. In the end, it shows the character "M" pulling a flag from the side/

The purpose of this initial project planning is to have a clear direction for the making process which is going to take place after this. This includes digitalizing the graphics and combining them in flash to create animation.

The graphic side - Animation Sketches, Digitalize Logo and Digitalize Animation have been pushed two weeks backwards because of the timeline miscalculation error in week 6 and week 7.
