Inspirational Animations

Here are some of the animation that inspired me.

Pixar Animation Logo
It is a very simple animation of the lamp but it fits very well with the pixar logo.

Pause Fest 2011 - Sander Van Dijk & Radium Audio
The graphics merge with each other effectively which create very interesting graphical movement.

Me, Myself and I
The creator plays with the texts and graphics to create smooth and interesting motion graphics.

Claudio Salas Reel
The idea of transforming from the graphic into another different graphic is great.

Moviebox
The whole idea of this animation is about boxes.
It creates an effect of stop motion.
The objects and effects used such as lighting, creates a realistic feeling to the animation.

Composition in Red
The creator plays with simple shapes and lines.
It creates motion, such as water dripping.

Globo Logos
A cool video combining human hands and folded papers.
It plays with different angles and graphics.

The State of Wikipedia
Interesting way of telling information about Wikipedia.
It looks so playful, like a playground.

After looking at all of these examples, I found out that each of the animation is created based on different themes and ideas. Different techniques, such as framing, masking, motions are used to create different kind of visual expression that the creator want the viewer to feel.

Past Winners

  • 2012 – 2013 Le Coffret-Chambres D'hôtes Visual Identity by Laura Ferrario. Le Coffret is a design B&B in Valle d'Aosta. The project was conceived in absolute respect of the authentic style: therefore the stone walls, wooden beams and antique furniture. A circle symbolizing the sky over the triangle representing the mountain from the idea of the ascent of man into the sky. An Onciale font revised to remember the Celtic origins of the Valley rightly balances and supports a strong symbol to finally obtain a mark that is easy to identify and easily catches the eye.
  • 2010 – 2011 Utrecht City Theatre Corporate Identity by Edenspiekermann Amsterdam. Utrecht City Theatre - a place where artistic quality, engagement, adventure, passion and skill come together. The interaction between visitors and performers is a sparkling and emotional adventure, often leading to reflective moments. The custom typeface and logo are based on the words “shimmering” and “reflection”. The typography and colour scheme reflect the zeitgeist of Dudok, architect of the theatre building. The edgy play of letters positions the theatre self-consciously in the present time. The style allows inspiration to grow into a powerful cultural brand.
